The 78th Annual Boar鈥檚 Head Celebration on Dec. 2 marked the traditional beginning of the holiday season at K体育 with a great turnout from students, alumni and faculty.
After the 2021 edition adapted for COVID safety concerns, the 2022 event returned to familiar settings. This year鈥檚 celebration included the induction of 19 new Omicron Delta Kappa members, the alumni reception with more than 250 attendees, a capacity crowd at Conant Performing Arts Center for the concert and the student-centered after-party.
This year鈥檚 concert theme was 鈥淎 Star In the East,鈥 and the program featured the traditional Boar鈥檚 Head Carol for the processional, a retelling of the legend of the Boar鈥檚 Head, as well as number of sacred and secular holiday selections by the K体育 University jazz ensemble the Jazzy Petrels, the K体育 University Singers and Chorale, and the K体育 University Symphony.聽 Dr. Michael Rulison, physics professor who will retire next year after more than 40 years on the faculty, was the ODK reader sharing a poignant story of a Christmas bicycle gift.
The after-party offered a celestial-themed dance, food, caricature artists, crafts, mocktails and cocktails for those of legal age, and tarot and palm readings.
As the fall semester winds down and final exams get under way, a number of other holiday-themed events remain. The complete list is available on throughout the season.
