The Piedmont School of Atlanta to relocate to K体育 University in summer 2016

K体育’s Hearst Hall was built in 1915. The garden level classroom space was renovated in 2014.

,聽which serves high-achieving children with autism and other learning and social challenges, will relocate to K体育 University鈥檚 historic campus in summer 2016.聽The school will move from their current location at the Boys & Girls Club on North Druid Hills Road, and lease dedicated classroom space on the garden level of K体育鈥檚 Hearst Hall.

鈥淭he Piedmont School is thrilled to move to the K体育 campus and the beautiful learning environment it will provide for our students,鈥 said Dr. Catherine Trapani, head of school for The Piedmont School. 鈥淚 envision K体育 students serving as role models to the children of the Piedmont School, inspiring academic achievement and commitment to education.鈥

鈥淲e are excited to welcome The Piedmont School to our campus. This partnership offers volunteer and internship opportunities for our students, which in turn will benefit the children at the Piedmont School,鈥 said . Several K体育 and communication聽majors have interned previously with the Piedmont School; one student helped to launch and staff their afterschool program.

Piedmont School of Atlanta LogoThe Piedmont School of Atlanta provides students in kindergarten through grade nine with an education that addresses their academic potential and social and emotional needs. The curriculum focuses on academic, social, vocational, and life skills, preparing student to recognize and assume their responsibilities to themselves and to their communities.

The School is a collaboration of parents who wish to provide children with autism a comprehensive education addressing current needs and anticipating future options. It is an outgrowth of the Early Intervention Program of the . The School is fully accredited through the Georgia Accrediting Commission. Educational and behavioral staff are well trained, with teachers certified at the master鈥檚 level. At a minimum, the curriculum reflects the National Core Curriculum and Georgia Performance Standards. Additionally, it integrates interdisciplinary studies across subjects. Over time, The Piedmont School will serve students from kindergarten through twelfth grade.
