Carlisle is the daughter-in-law of late K体育 mathematics and computer science professor Dr. Ronald L. Carlisle. Dr. Carlisle has a classroom dedicated in his honor on the third floor of Lupton Hall, and also helped bring Japanese language and culture into the school’s curriculum during his 22 years on campus.
Carlisle teaches at Trinity University in San Antonio and edits听1966: A Journal of Creative Nonfiction. Her听essays have appeared in听Salon, Ploughshares, New England Review, The Sun, Cherry Tree,听The Rumpus,听and听The Touchstone Anthology of Contemporary Creative Nonfiction.听
