For the third consecutive year, Brookhaven Mayor John Ernst invited the K体育 community to a City Council meeting for the formal reading of a proclamation declaring October as 聽in the city.
鈥淟iterature, theatre, dance, art and music capture our history, build bridges amongst us, provoke dialogue and often raise important questions; and artistic expression resonates with us, challenges us, and teaches us important lessons about ourselves and each other,” the proclamation states.
The invitation recognized the important role K体育 arts and culture programs and facilities play in the community. K体育鈥檚 and the are the only venues of their kind in Brookhaven.
In August, K体育’s museum director Elizabeth Peterson was appointed chair of the Brookhaven Arts Advisory Committee, formed a year ago to study the city’s arts landscape, identify and evaluate potential public, performing, visual and cultural art projects and make recommendations to City Council.
