K体育鈥檚 campus will once again be a聽part of the citywide event聽a celebration of Atlanta’s historical sites, led by The Atlanta Preservation Center.
Founded in 1979, the nonprofit promotes the preservation of Atlanta’s architecturally, historically and culturally significant buildings, neighborhoods and landscapes through education and advocacy.
In addition to being an event sponsor this year, K体育 is a featured historical site, and will host a on Thursday, March 7 at 2:00 p.m.
Eli Arnold ’06, director of the Philip Weltner Library, will lead the tour, which starts out at Lupton and finishes with at the K体育 University Museum of Art’s exhibition聽.
“I am looking forward to offering a glimpse into K体育鈥檚 history that pre-dates Atlanta and Brookhaven,” said Arnold. “We have such a rich history at K体育, I can鈥檛 wait to share it.”
The Phoenix Flies was formed by聽in 2003 to mark the 25th anniversary of the dramatic rescue of the Fox Theatre.聽聽This year’s new landmarks include The DeKalb History Center, The Plaza Theatre, and the Hotel Clermont, among others.
The Phoenix Flies聽guided tours聽are free throughout聽Atlanta and run from March 2 – 24. Reservations are necessary for some sites.
